Revenue growth decomposes into user growth times ARPU growth. Knowing the split matters, because user growth eventually saturates while ARPU growth can continue through pricing and upselling.
The denominator definition is where the mischief lives. Companies choose between monthly actives, paying accounts and registered users, and switching definitions mid-story is a warning worth heeding.
Example: Northwind Cloud serves 58,300 accounts generating $210M, an ARPU of $3,600. Revenue grew 31% from 22% more accounts and 7% higher ARPU.
