Present bias

Weighting how you feel right now above what you decided earlier, which is how yesterday's plan loses to today's impulse.

Present bias is the general form of hyperbolic-discounting: the current moment carries extra weight in every comparison. Your calm Sunday self writes a plan for a person who will not exist on Wednesday afternoon.

Everything that reduces tilt works by binding the future self: written rules, automatic stop orders, a hard daily-loss-limit, a platform logout after a set number of trades. These are not motivational tools, they are constraints placed while you are still the person who can place them.

Assume the in-the-moment version of you will defect. Design accordingly.
