Ripping describes the tape rather than the reason: fast upward movement, thin resistance, participants chasing. It is the verb form of rip, and it is the condition in which chasing is most tempting and most expensive.
A ripping market can be traded, but not with the entry you planned for a calm one. Either the plan already contained a rule for entering strength, or the honest answer is that the move is not yours to take.
